I tore my tendon on my middle finger of my left hand playing ball with my son. I didn't even know my fingertip was dangling. Didn't hurt when it happened and I wasn't playing rough. The ball must have just hit it a certain way. I made an appointment with a hand surgeon through insurance company. Prior to going, I sought advice from my uncle who is a plastic surgeon and lives out of state. he stated I needed to get finger pinned. The surgeon I went to refused to do it and said all I needed was a finger brace. Told my uncle, he suggested to go to a different dr. Thank god insurance company directed me to dr. Sorelle. He looked at it and stated I needed to get it pinned. Saw him on a Thursday; was able to get surgery the very next day. It's been less than a week. Finger looks better already. Going to have to keep it pinned for next 6 weeks. Will see how successful surgery was once pin comes out. The dr. Is knowledgeable and professional and the staff manage the office like a well oiled machine. They are compassionate, kind, precise and "just on it!!" From appointments, to paperwork, insurance, medicine and follow up...they were one step ahead of me. Thank you to the office staff and I look forward to seeing how my finger feels and looks after pin is out. So far so good, great! I hope it functions perfectly almost as good as it was.
