  • I currently live here and have been for going on 2 years this August. It's not great, but it also hasn't been awful. This complex does try to do a lot for its residents in the way of social events. Last year we had food trucks come by in the late afternoon, had a free professional picture taken for the holidays, movie nights by the pool, and other social gatherings. They do a yearly apartment inspection/fire alarm inspection, and usually change the battery. I personally enjoy seeing the water features throughout the property. We moved into one of their upgraded apartments while my cousin had moved into an older unit the year before us. She told me that, as a perk of being a long time member, she had a choice between a few unit upgrades. She chose free carpet cleaning which, having a rambunctious cat, was really helpful. We've had our fair share of 'communal living' issues--gates getting stuck form time to time, being able to hear the water and some noises from above neighbors (but not from the ones next to us or behind us), dishwasher doesn't clean dishes properly, stove light and oven light weren't working when we moved in, vent in bathroom was squeaking and blowing chunks of dust onto our towels (ended up getting a towel rack to hang on the door), chain inside the toilet broke a year later, back screen door has always been a hassle to deal with, ceiling fan squeaks when it is on high. The lights in front of my apartment and parking lot have gone out during several storms since we've been here... which I actually don't mind, since I don't like the light that's pretty much beaming right into our window at night. ALL requests have been fixed promptly by maintenance. My two biggest issues with maintenance were when there was a leak coming from the ceiling above my shower. At one point, the water had formed a huge bubble, held up by paint. It finally popped and water was leaking out of it by the time maintance came to fix it. Their idea of fixing seemed to be smoothing some plaster over it. It was such a poor job, hardened points of the stuff were sticking out from the wall. There was even an air pocket in it, which made me worry about getting mold in the bathroom. I had called them out twice for the issue before it was finally resolved, which makes me think that having my bathroom rug tossed out and not replaced, along with leaving flecks of dried plaster all over the place had something to do with it. Our other issue was the water heater. I had called them out 2-3 times before it was resolved. First the heater itself was checked, but the found the breakers needed switching back. This happened two times before someone finally went in to check on it. Turns out the element had corroded far beyond replacing and the whole thing needed to be replaced. It would take a day or two for the whole process, (the water needed to be drained from the old unit to lighten it (and eventually get over my balcony), and the second one was put in (having a cousin the same complex is really helpful). The maintenance guys were really nice about the whole thing and explained to me what was going on during the process. I'm just upset that it took that many times rather than have it checked the first time (it wasn't the first time we'd had a problem with it). Overall, I like living here. We don't have any indoor pest problems (aside from the fungus gnats that come up from the drain if we leave our dishes out for too long). No roaches, no scorpions, haven't seen any spiders, and no ant invasion in the summer. My boyfriend composts on the patio and it's been a pretty decent experience. We're pretty much kept to ourselves, so any neighbor drama is beyond me. Occasionally there will be an argument heard in the corridors, but we can't hear it from our room. Cops have been called here, some people let their dogs crap out by our apartment (which we ended up getting an email saying we had pets), and once got an email about some weirdo creeping about the complex (though we never came across him.) The parking lot in my area is pretty quiet for the most part, enough to where I can stay in my parked car with the windows rolled down if it's a nice evening. The only thing I have a small gripe about is the convenience store that was supposed to be opening in our complex next to the car wash port. That would be super, since the Circle K down the street seems to attract a lot of nearby junkies.
