The agent doesn't go with you to find the car. You have to find it yourself and figure out how it works yourself. The worst part is bringing the car back. You take it to a drop off lot and leave it there, then you must walk across that parking lot, across busy lanes of traffic, across the parking lot to the terminal doors to return the key. I did this in 113 degree heat. It was awful. If you have luggage or carrying a baby it would be terrible. Enterprise and Avis both had attendants on the drop off lot so you could just drop off the car and the key at the same place. Hertz was the only one where you had to go through all this other nonsense.
I will say the men at the counter where you rent the car and drop off the keys were very nice and professional.
