Here's the Cliff's Notes: I hired Candace Campbell from the I Do Crew to do my hair on my wedding day.
She didn't show up.
She didn't call.
She didn't send anyone else to do my hair.
The longer story:
I paid a deposit and we made plans for her to come to my condo the morning of the wedding to do my hair at 9am. By 9:15 I was nervous she wasn't there. By 9:30, scarfing down Tums to settle my fluttering stomach.
Phone calls to her were unanswered. Luckily my mom was having her make up done by Veronica Robles of Makeup to Remember, and she pulled someone out of thin air to do my hair. Veronica also did a great job on my mom and her friend's makeup that day. Highly recommend her.
A week later after the wedding, I emailed Candace to find out what had happened (that's right, she still had not contacted me or refunded my deposit) and she said she was "very ill" that day and felt "really bad" as she had "never missed a bridal appointment before."
I'm not faulting her for feeling under the weather. I've been sick before too. But I always call into my employer to tell them where I'm at and what's going on. I left two phone numbers to call or text, as well as an email address and my location.
Needless to say, I was very displeased and this stress added to already standard wedding day pressure. In my opinion, the actions were highly unprofessional and I cannot recommend or support anyone hiring the I Do Crew for their wedding day beauty.
