| - I had a very limited window to book a hotel, so I didn't get to read reviews. But I really wish I had. This place was horrible! My options were to stay in the airport for a 20 hour layover or get a hotel to hopefully catch up on sleep and enjoy some of NC before heading back to Cali. We really should've stayed in the airport. When the hubs and I parked out front of the hotel, he was able to pull up reviews, and I should have forfeited the fee and stayed somewhere else. Upon getting out of the car, we saw a client sitting in her window smoking and trying to blow smoke out of the window...clearly because she shouldn't have been smoking in there to begin with.
The lobby was ok, and the front desk employee was helpful. Upon getting to our room, It absolutely reeked of cig smoke. We immediately requested another room, and she gave us the one next door which was only a little better. I checked for bed bugs right away and didn't see any evidence of them. We both slept horribly from the bad odor. We checked out as early as possible the next morning and never looked back. We both ended up with bad coughs from the awful cig smoke that was everywhere.
SO the positives:
We weren't murdered!
Our rental car wasn't stolen!
We didn't end up on Cops, though this could also be considered a negative.
Negatives:
I think we both have lung cancer now.
The place stunk to high heaven.
The furniture was old, banged up, and ratty.
The lighting above the bed made me think I was about to get beamed somewhere.
The shower whistled when running. Yes it whistled, and it wasn't on key.
