Wow. I am not at all 'into' military history or memoribilia, but this place is amazing! They have everything set up so that it looks and feels almost exactly like it would have during WWII (sans 90 sailors). They even have 1940s music playing softly in the background and pictures of the men's sweethearts and pinups hanging by their bunks. Everything just feels so real. There were times that I caught myself not wanting to go behind a set of bunks because i felt like I would be invading someone's privacy. Ha! To walk through those cramped spaces and realize that 90 men at a time lived in there, under the water, for 75 days straight is truly mind boggling. I would lose my shiznit.
As has been mentioned in other reviews, the entrance and exit to the inner areas are very narrow ladders. Do NOT wear a skirt (I did. Doh!) and do not bring granny if she isn't VERY agile.
It was also IMMENSELY enjoyed by my 14 year old son and his friend, neither of whom have much interest in military OR history.
