Not sure why so many others love this place on Yelp, but I wasn't impressed. Servers were friendly, but the sushi chef behind the counter must have been having a really terrible day.
Miso soup was hot and the cucumber sunomono fine. The fried tofu on the salad was heavy- not the nice light agedashi style I was hoping for. Takoyaki from the specials board seemed to have no octopus at all.
Tried 3 rolls and they were underwhelming- lots of fake crab/mayo filling. Skimpy on the fish, eel, and avocado, but heavy on the sauce.
They did bring out a free green tea ice cream sundae (not sure if that's standard?), but though I appreciate the gesture, it wasn't really wanted.
The place had a decent crowd on a Friday night, but I wouldn't return. Will leave it for the other fans.
