| - I have had this place bookmarked forever, so last night we decided to cross it off our list. I remembered seeing Groupon offers for it in the past, so I checked just before we walked in and score! $22 for $40 offer, done!
I was really surprised that on a Friday evening, it wasn't packed at all, in fact we had our choice of tables. We were promptly brought out menus and water, and I had a good feeling. We selected several dishes to get started - edamame, garlic chicken, ceviche, sliders, short ribs, and bacon wrapped asparagus.
The ceviche came out first. It was presented nicely but there was weren't a lot of shrimp and scallops in it. The taro chips were good. Next came the garlic chicken, it wasn't what we were expected, it was described as crispy chicken thighs, but it was almost like chicken pork rinds, just deep fried pieces of chewy chicken skin, it was unappetizing.
The sliders were great, as were the short ribs and bacon wrapped asparagus (we each got an order which was 1 skewer). I LOVED the edamame. I could have just gotten my own order of sliders and the garlicky, chile covered edamame and been quite happy.
Why 3 stars? I would have given 4, but after we finished eating, we were totally ignored. At least 3 staff members walked past us while we sat waiting at our table, and no one checked on us for 20 minutes. My husband was going to order a sushi roll, but by the time someone finally stopped (we had tried to flag someone down), we decided we were ready for the check.
If we come back we will sit at the bar so we aren't stuck waiting.
