Recently visited Mare for an "Ashiatsu" Massage, and was thoroughly impressed. First off, Re is in the old fire station #2 building... which is a pretty cool building, and though there aren't a lot of parking spaces, there is a free valet service waiting for you out front. Pretty 1st class...
I met with Mare and we did a pre-consultation so she could see what I needed and check my comfort levels for different aspects of the massage. She also "talked" me into an extra foot treatment... that was awesome. (ahh, foot massages are the best)
With the Ashiatsu massage, she essentially is standing on your back while she holds on these two bars in the ceiling to adjust pressure. She was always applying the perfect amount of pressure and the added weight really helped her get in to some tough spots I have in my lower back specifically. She has a very smooth style unlike some massage therapists who are kind of jerky and can keep you from being able to totally relax. I won't describe the whole massage, but I will say it was the perfect atmosphere; temperature, scents, lighting, music and all!
The post consultation was also a nice touch and she made sure to remind me to drink plenty of water. I was so relaxed I mostly just smiled and nodded. Valet had my car out front before I came out to get it.
I will be back! A++ Experience!
