OK let me start by saying I love this DR. I had my first appointment on Tuesday. At first I wasn't sure how I would like this place as there is only one practicing DR in the office. I'm used to going to Women's Specialty where they have several doctors, but after bad experiences with them my friend recommended I check out Dr. Spoon. I am EXTREMELY happy I did. The wait was probably around 30 minutes or so and suddenly several women started walking in so I was getting nervous my appointment would be delayed. As soon as I knew, the nurse was calling my name to get my vitals. After that she walked me into his office where I would get to meet him (that was so weird for me because I've never had a doctor spend time getting to know you.) He asked me basic family history questions, what I did for work, etc. I liked that he was from Nevada and we had that to talk about because I am too and so are my parents. I'm glad he took the time to go over my family history and direct me in the steps to prevent any cancers or anything that may occur. He also suggested I switch my birth control back to a pill because of the risk of blood clots on the one I'm taking being so high. I thought it was great he explained the risk of the patch vs a pill, my other doctor simply wrote the prescription without even giving me the risks. In the exam room I was a tad bit nervous but he made things easier by his welcoming personality. I'm happy I found a gyn who cares about his patients (because many are only out for the money. I won't name any names ;-)). His whole staff is fantastic too and they even did a courtesy blood draw for me in their lab. They're a Quest lab and I have Labcorp so they were nice enough to accommodate me. I hope to have Dr. Spoon deliver my future babies. Definitely check this guy out!
