| - I decided on this place for my oil change based on the reviews. Even though I had a few coupons for $17.99 oil changes, they were with chains, and I prefer giving my business to local shops. When I called to make an appointment, I was quoted $39.99.
I came in this morning and waited while they did the work. The little lobby is clean and well-stocked with a variety of magazines, water and a Keurig (and French vanilla creamer, ha!). The staff is friendly and took the time to answer the few questions I had. One of them was what the difference is between their service and the places I had coupons for. Basically, why should I pay the extra $20 for them. Scott told me that their shop doesn't charge an extra disposal fee, which the other places do, and a tire rotation, fluid top-off and thorough inspection are all included.
They let me know that my power steering and transmission fluids were looking pretty dirty, and that ALL of my brake lights were out. I didn't want to pay the extra charge to replace the lights, since I could probably do that myself...but the guy came back to me to ask if it was okay for them to replace the two lower lights...that he'd only charge me the cost of the lights, but he didn't want me to drive off his lot with no brake lights at all, so he added $4 to the bill. Then, they took the car to get WASHED, which was part of the deal. When I got my bill, the guy told me they'd given me a special for being a first time customer, which was $10 less than what I'd been quoted. With tax, I was out the door for less than $40, I got a ton of services, dealt with some friendly and professional people and supported local!
