| - I found this boutique pilates studio on ClassPass and it's a great find. It's tucked away on Yonge, just north of Davenport on the 2nd floor of an office building. It's not as "fancy" in ambiance as nearby Mindful Movement Centre or 889, but the classes are small and the instructors really know their stuff. This is a great place particularly if you are newer to pilates, because there's lots of personalized attention and feedback. That said, if you're experienced in pilates, it looks like there are some more advances classes too.
At first, I kept trying to come here but certain classes had pre-requisites and although I had done pilates at other studios, I wasn't sure if they'd let me just jump into an intermediate class. At the same time, I appreciate that they take safety seriously and they want to make sure people don't sign up for something too advanced and end up not being able to keep up or do things with proper form and alignment.
I really like the reformer classes here. It's never boring and they always switch things up. Try the jumpboard classes if you want some cardio (which is often missing in pilates). You lie down and there's a mini trampoline attached at the end of the reformer machine. Totally effective, yet gentle on the joints. Cardio while lying down is pretty sweet!
The facilities are basic, but they keep it clean and make it cozy. There's a small lounge to wait before class (with tea, magazines), a couple single changeroom stalls (unisex), and bathrooms are down the hall. I don't think there are showers.
