  • I would only recommend this place to someone who is invited as part of a corporate event (so you do not have to deal with a$$hats who want to pretend they are the second coming of Mario Andretti at your expense) or if you enjoy wasting $22 to be crashed into at 45 mph by aforementioned a$$hats. Your choice. My husband and brother-in-law didn't mind getting crashed into as much as I did. But the other problem with going at a time of day when there might be more than 4 or 5 other racers on the course with you, is that even though you are paying $20 for a promised 14 laps, if there are faster racers on the course, you are forced off the track as soon as the first guy gets to his 14 laps. I only got to do 10 laps, not because I couldn't drive the car quickly enough, or because I couldn't control it (though that does take some significant muscle, I have to say) but rather, because the track manager kept giving me the blue flag to slow down and move over so I could let the a$$hats pass me. It sapped ALL potential fun from the experience. It would probably be a LOT more fun if they had different classes of races, rather than a free-for-all of different skill levels. They do have races that are only for juniors, so the adult jerks can't crash into kids, but it would be nice if they had a race every so often that was just for novices, and a separate one for the jerks, err, I mean, the advanced drivers. They make a big deal over how you are technically not allowed to bump the other cars, but that "rule" doesn't seem to apply to their regulars who are routinely allowed to do whatever they want to get the best possible time. (At least during all the races we were watching they were.) Word to the wise: If you are there at a time when it is open to the public, be on the lookout for one guy in particular, who has his own bright yellow helmut, and do your best to not be a race with him. Again, unless you enjoy incurring whiplash and being ordered to throttle down. To their credit, they do have electric karts now, so you won't die of carbon monoxide poisoning while you race.... For what that is worth. P.S. If you want the REAL story on this place, read the 3 PAGES of "filtered reviews" at the bottom -- almost all of them are only 1-star or 2-star, but they are filtered out.... Hmmmm, perhaps the owner of Yelp is an Octane investor or something?
