  • So, if you gotta go to the DMV, I'd recommend this one with all of my heart. After The Boyfriend became The Husband, I realized that I'd have to make an appearance at one of the most dreaded places in the history of our current society. I gotta tell you, guys. It REALLY wasn't that bad here! I arrived around 6:40 am on a Wednesday morning for a 7:00 am open. There was a sizable line outside, so there's the one downside. If it's raining or incredibly hot out, you're pretty much screwed because the building is gorgeous, but there's no coverage anywhere. The line moved incredibly quickly for me, but I believe that was in part to the people being prepared with the correct information already. The guy at the counter asks what you need, reviews your accompanying paperwork and gives you a number. Now, look. The numbers here are on some weird system. This isn't like 62, 63, 64. You have no idea when your number is going to be called. They even have number prefixes. I think I was like C101, but they called 15 people before me. With the same letter and different numbers. I don't know what the heck is going on there. But, the wait was about 30 minutes. You go back to a person, if you're getting your license done and everything is handled in their cubicle. From the initial request to the photo! They even give you a printed copy of your license to use now, so that's super handy. Okay, the title and registration part is on the other side. They have two separate lines and they are appropriately labeled, so make sure to read to see which line you need. They don't open until 9:00 am, though. Luckily, I finished with the license with plenty of time to get in this line and wait before they opened. I was done close to 8:00 am! There's a separate part upstairs that's got something to do with stolen plates or something, I believe. I didn't have to go, so I'm not really sure. There were a LOT of people up there, so I'd definitely arrive early if you need to go there. Overall, I arrived at 6:40 am and walked out with new license, title and registration at 9:20 am. That's less than 3 hours. Now THAT is how you DMV. *Make sure to sit up straight in your seat because I didn't and I have three necks and two chins in my photo.*
