I refuse to call this stadium by its current corporate name. Its the SkyDome and always will be.
The stadium itself is a characterless block of concrete, cold and without soul. Once you are in the seats its not bad as the sight lines are good but the cavernous concourses and stairways are all depressing grey cement for as far as the eye can see.
The tickets are cheap but the concession and beer prices are among the highest in baseball and really take the fun out of going to a game and almost certainly affect attendance. Back when the Jays were selling out and breaking attendance records the 50,000+ seat stadium was loud, fun and had a great game atmosphere but when they only pull 14,000 or so to a game the quiet crowd and vast expanses of empty sections is depressing.
A terrible place to see a concert unless you are in the first 25-30 rows centre stage on the floor. Its just too big to properly host an indoor concert and if you sit in one of the far sections the sound echoes horribly in an acoustic mess and you will need binoculars just to see the band.
The roof is an engineering marvel and I will never forget the ALCS championship games and World series games I went to here but thats not enough to carry my love for such a drab stadium.
Smokers beware. The SkyDome does not have a smoking area and no ins and outs for smokers is offered.
