  • I have bought a few items from Thymes Maternity in the past, and found they fit well on petite bodies. Their quality is pretty good, and when there is a sale, it is not terribly expensive. My main concern is their customer service. Most of them are useful and cheerful, and they seem to genuinely want to help you. But then there are a few who are almost aggressively eager to help you and speak to you like they want you to buy their store out. I walk in one day and one of the sales lady comes up to me and ask if I want help. This is greatly appreciated, as I didn't have to go searching for someone. She mentions their current sale and starts to go through bras and sizing with me. She clearly knows her stuff, but then starts to tell me I need at least 6 of them. It's probably a personal preference, but when I talk to other moms, they thought 6 was a bit excessive. I went with 3. Then she starts to ask me if I have this or that, and pretty much why I would need them all. I said I was pretty much set for the other stuff, but then she would ask what brand of nipple cream, what type of nursing tops, etc etc, and then go on to promote why theirs is better. I understand they're just trying to do their job at selling, but I don't appreciate being told that I made poor choices! :( Maybe I'm being a little emotional, being pregnant and all, but you have to know the audience you're selling to. The most annoying thing that bothers me, which lead me to write this review, is when she tries to sell me their undergarments. I didn't realise that there is a no return policy on their undergarment (as it is not indicated on their exchage/refund policy receipts), even if tag is still intact. When I try them on, I mention that it is very uncomfortable around the waist because my belly is sensitive being pregnant. She goes on to tell me that after I've had the baby, it will be ok. I try to understand what she means, but she assures me it will be fine. I go home but realise that it doesn't make sense what she says, even if it is true, because I am having discomfort with the items at the moment, and if I end up with a c-section, the band would make things worst. However, when I go back to the store to explain my situation, she wouldn't listen and said to me, undergarments are non refundable at any store anywhere, and that basically they are no different. Even if the tags are on. I acknowledge the issue with hygiene, but I try to point out that the tags are still intact, and that I am uncomfortable with them. However, she proceeds to walk away as she made her point. I am very disappointed with her response, and the fact that she sold it to me telling me that I'll be fine in the future, even if I mention that I was not fine at the moment. Perhaps I should have gone in there thinking more clearly... pregnant mothers are not always known for having enough sleep and a clear head! However, her approach to selling their items rubbed me in the wrong way. I am honest and I acknowledge that the staff there are very knowledgeable and that their items are of good quality, but I warn expectant moms in hopes they don't go through the same experiences I did. Update: So I contacted their customer service, only to get a reply saying something along the lines of speaking to the manager and see if they can make an exception. I replied that I have already spoken with the manager at the store at that time, and because I was unsatisfied, I contacted customer service. No further reply. It seems pretty common for them to provide some superficial comment as a way to have done their job as customer service, without further follow up to ensure problem solved before closing the complaint. (I briefly check the comments on their facebook of disatisfied customers, only to find the same thing occuring, sadly.) What kind of customer service is that?
