| - MIHS is anything but a "typical" county hospital. We're really lucky in Phoenix to have this place.
The first thing I noted to myself when I came to the hospital was that the inside looks so clean and modern, unlike anything you would expect from a county or state-run hospital. The staff are friendly, competent, and more than willing to point you to the right direction.
My experience at MIHS includes, seeing a GP, specialist visits, and seeing the dermatologist. I also had a small outpatient procedure once. All of my experiences are positive generally. In terms of billing, they have options to help folks, which is a major blessing for a lot of people.
Getting an appointment can be difficult sometimes as they are often booked out for a while. But there are same-day appointments available. When I hurt my leg hiking, they got my in the next day to see a specialist. Not bad service right?
In terms of dealing with bureaucracy. MIHS does the best it can. A lot the issues people deal with actually come from insurance companies or the government to be honest. But I've always had any issues resolved pretty quickly. I've never had any overwhelming issues at MIHS.
There's a pretty good amount of parking, a nice café inside, and plenty of TVs to keep you occupied while you wait. I personally think that MIHS is one of the best country or state hospitals in the southwest. I would be surprised if others are as good as this one.
The folks at MIHS really do care and want to help. Sometimes they are overwhelmingly busy, but with that in mind I still say that they give the best service that they can and they do care. MIHS is a nice hospital and trauma center. All things considered, this place gets 5-stars!
