  • Hotel Alma has impressed me so far. Over the last several months I've been involved with a work project where we bring external researchers into Calgary for a few days at a time. I've been in charge of booking their accommodations and we chose Hotel Alma, both because of it's convenient location on campus and because of what it can offer for the price. After our first guest stayed there I was pleasantly surprised to learn that breakfast was included with the room rate, as were long distance telephone calls and access to the university gym. Everyone that we have brought in so far has stayed in the one-bedroom suites and everyone has given me compliments about the hotel and the rooms. It's quiet, clean, the rooms are comfortable, and it has a unique vibe. In terms of the booking logistics on my end, it's been very easy to book rooms and make changes to the reservations. I've had to call on a few occasions to change things due to changes in our researchers' travel plans and the staff have all been extremely helpful, courteous, and friendly. One of the researchers commented that there wasn't much nearby in way of food options, but it's also not a far drive to some good restaurant options and I know that the hotel staff are helpful in recommending restaurants and arranging travel.
