Another big up vote for VCA. This is exactly the kind of vet one always hopes one can find in a new town. We recently moved to C-U with our vintage miniature schnauzer, and she's having a little bit of trouble adjusting to the idea. It also been a while since she'd had a check up, so I thought it would be a good idea to go ahead and establish a relationship with a new vet.
I'm grateful to YELP for steering me towards VCA. They are very warm and thoughtful. Our doc had a "dog whisperer" quality that I've never seen in practice before. He totally won our dog over, which -- basically -- no one ever does. He was also good with us (no small accomplishment in its own right).
At present, the dog is on some antidepressants with a check up visit after two weeks. This makes me a little sad, but she seems to be much more chilled out now, and I'm hoping we can cycle her off the meds soon.
Looking forward to more (albeit hopefully infrequent and routine) visits as we settle in here.
