I have a hard time giving them a star rating - either 1 through 5, because there is so much negative to complain about this place, along with the positive.
The positive: The are one of the few places available after hours, and they do have an extensive staff of specialists.
however,
They are STUNNINGLY EXPENSIVE ! If there is any way on earth that you can get your own vet to do the same treatment - DO THAT.
I have to warn you - you will pay 2 or 3 times as much for treatment at this clinic - for similar treatment done at your own vet.
But sadly, if your dog gets hit by a car - you don't have much choice - and I think they take advantage of that. (So I DO recommend that you research the other 24 hour emergency clinics that exist - many of them around the edge of the city.)
And I have to add that they seem a little heartless when they demand a deposit - UP FRONT - equal to the amount that they estimate it will cost to treat your animal. And if you can't come up with the money you get the impression they will say too bad ....
And to get around to one of my bad experiences with them - I spent several thousand dollars on a C-section - and when my dog got home I knew immediately that something was not right. She became infected and went back in there for many days and they yanked out her uterus and charged me $5,000. That might not be so bad, except that they sent the puppies home - saying mom couldn't nurse the pups there, so I spent a week getting up every 2 hours all night long to feed the puppies by hand, and after a week when one puppy died. I was told by a technician there that she had experience bottle feeding pups, so I gave her the two remaining pups - and was told a few days later that both those puppies died too.
To this day I'll never know if they REALLY did die - or if they lived and that tech kept them.
.. end of rant ..
