Went here with my boyfriend and two friends and we all really had a fantastic time!
The festival is huge and all the buildings are really cute. The cost was $19 at Harris Teeter ( not much of a discount admittedly since full cost is $20). All the staff stays in character but the pre-recorded directions are a bit hard to understand- I think they should consider dropping the accent in that instance.
Drinks are very reasonable - beer, wine, mimosas, margaritas (a favorite during the Renaissance I hear ) are only $4-5. My turkey leg was huge so we shared it and it was one of the pricier food items at $7. They really did have a huge variety of food though from chili and soups in bread bowls, to chicken fingers, tacos, pizza, etc. mostly in the $5 range. The desserts were also great and I was able to have a bite of nutella and bananna crepe- yum!
They had tons of shops which were a bit pricier - and tons of overpriced junk for you to buy your kiddies ( a literal pinch of fairy-dust for $1)...but it's a fair so that can be a bit expected. Just remember to bring cash as they do not accept credit cards.
They had funny shows and great games ( Veggie justice was particularly hilarious). We didn't even begin to scratch the surface of things to do - it was honestly a great way to spend a sunny day outside!
