  • So my actual score for Europea if possible would be 10/5 ;) This was the best food experience of my life and I am not basing that on the price (I have paid much more for sub-standard food and service). So starting with the reservations, relatively easy process requiring a credit card. I'd suggest booking at least a month in advance. I had the signature tasting menu for $129.50 which consists of 10 courses. With a seating time of 9 pm, I KID YOU NOT, my friend and I were there till 1 am. So when I say this was an experience, it was a 4 HOUR FOOD EXPERIENCE! I don't eat beef. So since 2 of the courses were veal, they were more than great about substituting those courses (and not with vegetables as is often done). We were served by two people the whole night. The male server was great. I forget his 3name (we were there in June) but he was hilarious and had a very dry sense of humour.  ***Regarding the courses (NOTE: these are the listed courses on the menu - you get served additional items that are not on the menu): Amuse-Bouche - Lobster cream cappuccino with truffle purée - both my bff and I could have had a bucket of this each Appetizer 1) Al dente lemony calamari tagliatelle - so many textures, every bite was divine Appetizer 2) Smoked deer tartar with thin cut french fries - this was the best dish of the night for me, the presentation was amazing, it came in glass casing filled with smoke which was uncovered with drama lol - who knew raw deer with tiny french fries could taste so amazing  - menu item was slow cooked Quebec veal carpaccio which my friend enjoyed Appetizer 3) Foie gras au torchon, crispy langoustine, home brioche - bite-sized items with amazing flavour Main Course 1) Macadamia nut crusted Halibut pave - this was the most delicate dish of the night - buttery soft fish Palate cleanser - Crispy-melting white cheese ice mist sorbet Main Course 2) Cornish hen breast cooked and scorched on maple wood chips - great presentation, they bring up a whole breast partly through the cooking process and describe the cooking method - this was my second substituted dish - the menu item is Quebec veal cheeks slowly braised and cooked in clay - they bring up the whole item as it's cooking and make you break the clay open before plating it The Europea cheese cellar - you get to choose whatever cheeses you want or as we did it, the fromager asks about your tastes and brings what he thinks would suit your palette   Dessert 1) My passport to sweetness - cheesecake-like dessert revealed after the server melts the ball of white chocolate it's in Dessert 2 and 3) Candy tree from Guilty land/Mignardises (mini cakes/cookies) - last 2 courses combined with a candy floss tree - we asked ours to be packed because we were literally bursting at the seams by this time *** Observations: So it seems like bits of food when it comes out but we started having a hard time after finishing the halibut (after the first main course) and we are gals with healthy appetites lol. Put together, IT'S A LOT OF FOOD!! Trust me, arrive hungry. The presentations of the courses were each like a mini-show, so pay attention - one of the unlisted items (salmon in pastry) came in a wood box shaped like a book, server opened both at the same time and smoke blew into our faces in the best possible way lol Service is the best I have ever had at any restaurant. The servers were friendly, attentive (every time you get up to go to the washroom they replace your place setting, as soon as you are done dish is cleared way), not pretentious etc. Very accommodating in terms of dietary restrictions. I was glad that they actually replaced the veal dishes with other meat dishes and not vegetables. Amazing French house wine for $8 a glass! The restaurant is rather romantic - we were the only non-couple there, other than 1 large group. Definitely a place to take a date. At the end, you get a huge meringue, wrapped up in a bag to take home with you. At the end of the night when we were done, as we were going down the stairs, I saw our server going down before us. When we reached the bottom, he was standing there with the door open for us (WHAT, WHO DOES THAT?!?) - Am I getting through the fact that the service was AHHHHMAZING! I did some research before picking this restaurant out of all the high-end restaurants available in Montreal, and I ended up picking this one as it had the most unique menu items, an extensive tasting menu that gave you a bit of everything, and the rave reviews on service. And as expected, it was a truly marvelous experience.
