| - I did not have any work done here, but Pete in the service department was great. My ignition locked up on my car last weekend. I had to have it towed because it just wouldn't move. I had it towed to Ganley, since I knew there was a recall on the ignition switch, and thought maybe this had something to do with the issue I was experiencing.
Turns out, GM isn't replacing the ignition switches in the model car I had, they were just modifying the keys (which is ridiculous, IMO, but that is for another post), and this fix would not help me with my issue. He told me how much it would be to replace the ignition. I told him I simply couldn't afford to dump that much into a 10 year old car with 166k miles on it. He said "let me try a few things and see if I can get it to work for you without replacing it). He called me back the next day, and while he was not able to fix the issue, he tried, and he didn't lie to me about anything. I know how much the part was that I needed, because I called around while waiting for his call back.
I told him I was just going to trade my car in and get something reliable, car payment be damned. He apologized that he wasn't able to help me more, and that was truly appreciated. As a woman, I am used to service departments trying to screw me over on car repairs, and he was completely honest with me. Much appreciated.
