| - I really wanted to like this boot camp class considering the convenient location for me, but I really couldn't.
It certainly is a true boot camp, complete with someone yelling at you. However, it just didn't work for me, for the following reasons:
1. The exercises are too hard. Now, I know it's supposed to be hard, but so hard that people can barely do 1 rep? What's the point if the majority of your class can't even do one rep properly? I felt like there needed to be modifications to adapt the class to the different levels. In the end, I didn't get to work out that muscle because I couldn't do the exercise properly.
2. The yelling - just didn't work for me. It actually had me irritated instead of motivated. Probably related to reason #1
3. Lying. Ok, this sounds a bit extreme, but it's true. When he yells out 10 more seconds... and you count 10 seconds, and then another 10 seconds, and then another 10... and it's still not over... that is lying. 10 seconds apparently means 1 minute sometimes, 30 seconds other times... If he said 10 seconds and actually meant it, I would give it my all for those 10 seconds. However, when he says 10 seconds and I have no idea what it means...i don't give it my all because i don't know how long it will last... so it's just counterproductive.
All in all, this may be for you if you're looking for a challenging workout, but it just didn't work for me. I ended up looking at the clock constantly, waiting for it to be over, which is not fun at all. Compared to other boot camp classes where I didn't even notice the time, this seemed especially torturous.
