  • Wow. This was one of my favorite places to eat ever! I made a group reservation on Open Table a few weeks before the actual dining out during AZ Restaurant Week and by the day of, it had dwindled to 4. They weren't offended or upset and were quite nice to accommodate our smaller group. Since I'd never been before, I was unaware that they have free valet, so I parked on the city streets. Not a bad little walk, but next time I know better. The lobby opens into the ZuZu bar area, but the actual hostess stand is tucked a bit back there [maybe it should be moved up closer?]. A manager and a hostess greeted me both quite warmly and directed myself and one of the girls to a table. Zach was our server and was amazing from the beginning. He gave us his personal favorites on the menu, both drinks and food wise. Made us all laugh at how much he loves peanut butter and their PB dessert on the AZRW menu! The ambiance is totally trendy, but with an ode to the 1960s/70s. Around 7/8p on the weekends, you'll find some good background music. Totally adds to the environment. This would be a great date night selection. I started with the New Fashioned cocktail. I typically prefer vodka or gin-based cocktails but this one rocked my socks. Both Zach and the house manager PJ recommended it. On that subject...can I just say how nice PJ was?! He came by our table a few times throughout the night to check in on us. One of the girls ordered the Mac n cheese as an appetizer as an addition to our AZRW sides. I'd never had mussels before and absolutely LOVED them. If it wasn't looked down upon, I probably would've drank the broth straight from the bowl. A little disappointed at how small my main course filet was because I wanted more! It was delicious. Out of our group I was the only one to get the Panama Cotta for Desert. Might've been the best course! So rich and sinfully good. I can totally see myself coming back but maybe actually stay the night at the resort too.
