We took my mother-in-law here for some brunch on my husband's birthday. We decided to come since we had received a flyer on our door offering 10% off. The place is tiny, but it smells heavenly right when you walk in. All the breads and desserts are baked on site. We were seated right away by the owner's husband who was actually only there on his lunch break and stopped in for a bite and ended up helping his wife a little. The atmosphere reminded me more of stopping in at mom's place for a bite to eat. Karen was laid back and friendly and talked to us as though she had known us forever. She answered all our questions from where they were from to how things worked in the kitchen.
Now to the food: it was delicious! My mother-in-law and I both had the Italian Elk Sausage sandwiches. The meat was spiced perfectly, the onions grilled to perfection and words cannot describe how fresh and good that bread was! I had the coleslaw and my mother-in-law had the sweet potato fries. My husband had the Reuben with regular fries; he tries the Reuben sandwich everywhere he goes and he says that this place served the best one he had ever eaten. My husband can be a picky eater so I know he enjoyed it! My son had the kid's burger and the portion was pretty big for him. We took 2 ginormous cinnamon buns home with us. It took me 3 days to eat mine, it was that huge and simply delectable. The variety and flavors make me excited to go back and try something else.
Now of course with every new place that opens up there will always be minor snafus, kinda like a brand new sitcom where the actors are still getting used to their parts and each other. So our water wasn't refilled until we asked for more, and the sweet potato fries and regular fries landed with the wrong entree. However, as everyone gets more comfortable with their part, there is no doubt in my mind that the flow of this place and all their transactions will only get better! Looking forward to trying the bison!
