| - Vanna is a master at her craft and has literally saved me, ever since I first moved to Vegas.
I know it's not very sexy but I am prone to ingrown toenails, which can be very painful. Years ago, I had to have one surgically removed and when they do that, they cut one side of your toenail completely off and you have to deal with your pedicure looking completely wack for a long time as it grows out. Enter Vanna and she tells me that she can put acrylic fake nail on my toe and have my toenail looking normal in no time. I hadn't even thought that was possible, but she was able to do that for me and you couldn't even tell that there was ever a problem when she was done. I was amazed! Thanks to her I was able to grow my toenails out in style.
My other concern is always the sterilization of instruments and such at some of these salons, as we all know some of these places can be downright unclean and unsanitary. Not here! I contracted flesh eating bacteria from a high end nail salon in NYC so I'm very careful about where I go now. They use the plastic liners in the pedicure bowls here so rest assured you will not come home from Sweet Nails with a bad case of the heebie jeebies.
And Vanna has prevented me from having to get more surgery which scores big points in my book. I don't ever want to have an ingrown toenail operated on again! It is the worst! That needle going into your toe repeatedly while they attempt to numb you. How you can feel them digging around in there to get it out. Then dealing with the healing process. No thank you! Never again! Vanna keeps me on track. She's like a doctor. This is why I will always stay loyal to her. Not to mention she's really nice...
The other thing about Vanna that is cool is that sometimes you go to a nail salon and they're all speaking Vietnamese (or another language you don't speak) and you have no clue what they are saying. They could be talking crap a bunch of crap about you and all the other patrons for all you know. I always have fun when I sit with Vanna because she includes me in what they are talking about and translates for me. This experience is unlike any nail salon I've ever been to before in a good way. I feel comfortable here.
Also worth nothing, she's great at eyebrow shaping. I get a lot of compliments on my eyebrows, I know that is strange to get complimented on but she's the one who does mine, so there you go.
The only downside is with booking because Vanna's popular, as you can see from reading the reviews here. You do have to schedule in advance. Then again, I'd be booking in advance if I had to schedule an appointment with a doctor to remove an ingrown toenail. Plus going through way more pain and charging up a bunch of medical bills. So in the end it is worth it. Good things come to those who wait.
I know this review could potentially help make Vanna more popular and even harder to get in with but I just couldn't keep the secret to myself anymore. As you can tell by my check-ins, I've been coming here a lot and for a long time. I just hope this review can help someone else, perhaps someone dealing with the annoying problem of having ingrown toenails like I was. Just tell Vanna that Bobbi sent you.
