I rarely give out 5 star reviews, so the fact I am giving a food truck 5 stars is significant.
Let me start out by saying I cannot recall having eaten a hot dog since age 6. I haven't wanted to, nor have I caved... even at a ballpark when "everyone else is eating one."
Today DD and I called Short Leash, found out where they were camped out and headed down to Urban Cookies lot to try them out.
My daughter is a hot dog connoisseur. I mean this literally. My parents actually started a hot dog cart business in her honor when they lived in PA. She is very picky when it comes to her dogs.
Today we ordered the kid's dog - plain - and a veggie dog, Moki style with no mayo. We also ordered two of the cheese corn pups.
DD said the hot dog was delicious and the best dog ever. She said she loved the flatbread. Okay, she called it pita... but still.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I bit into my dog, but I finished the whole thing! Delicious.
The owner came and chatted with me for a bit and recommended the chicken dog for my next visit. I asked if it had a pork casing and he said no... so I will try it out. I loved the Moki preparation, though.
I love this place and I hope they offer a franchise to someone in the East Valley so I can get it more often.
Yes, it was THAT good.
Get over to Short Leash ASAP! They have their locations listed on their website a month ahead of time. I've printed the month of June out already!
Now if only I can get my dog to be featured...
