| - First let me start by saying I'm not one to easily give a person or establishment 5 stars. I believe exceptional products & customer service should be the norm for all businesses, not the exception. Therefore, it is with much respect that I give Taz Cooks Culinary Instruction & Events 5 stars. Having attended many different cooking classes of all experience levels, Taz's classes/events are a cut above. From detailed instruction, to authentic and inspired recipes, to a most enjoyable experience, Taz's classes/events meet all the criteria. Whether you are a master cook or a novice unsure of a sauté vs fry, you will learn a great deal to improve your skills and gain a 'PhD' in Spices of the World. Cuisines from Indian to Thai to Caribbean to Sichuan to anything you request, Taz's credibility comes not only from his cooking skills but his extensive traveling the world cooking in local's homes to Michelin-rated restaurant. Additionally since Taz has lived in all 50 states, his regional expertise brings an authenticity to his American cuisines. I consider myself to be an avid home cook, yet continue to learn so much for Taz that I've taken over a year and half of his classes. Classes typically last 3-4 hours and may run a little overtime if you are enjoying the socializing and great conversations. In addition to instruction during the entire class, students have the opportunity to witness the entire meal being put together vs being broken off into groups, like other establishment's offerings, where you don't see how or what is being made until it is served up. Taz's classes allow each person to experience the entire, expansive meal. The 4 to 6 hour Spice Class, depending on which class is being offered, is his signature class, and is a 'must do' event in which you will learn about dozens of spices you've probably never seen or heard of, yet will become stapes in your collection. Taz's classes are at a variety of locations, and can also be held at your house or event space. It is with the greatest pleasure that I highly recommend Taz Cooks. TazCooks.com.
