  • Like other reviewers, I certainly wish I had done a bit of research before the very nice salesman signed me up at their booth at a community event earlier this year. Having fresh produce delivered weekly sounded like a great concept and a definite timesaver. However, the very nice salesman breezed over the 40 delivery minimum disclaimer, and the 6-month early termination fee of $50.00. Signing up for grocery delivery should not involve signing as many forms as purchasing a vehicle, so that should have been a warning sign of their overly-complicated process with many hidden fees along the way. The quality of the produce I received was...OK. Nothing spectacular. In fact, many of the items I received were set to expire within 1-2 days after delivery (i.e., Use By dates on prepackaged green beans and mushrooms). Additionally, the weekly cost for the quantity and variety of produce was simply unwarranted. Even a high-end grocery store ends up being less expensive. And with the produce expiring so soon after delivery, I found myself visiting the grocery store later in the week anyway. As for other food items such as their frozen entrees, I can't say there was anything special about the quality or portion size. The ingredients seemed just as "unnatural" as anything you could find in a typical grocery store's frozen food section. Bottom line: if you are honestly so incredibly busy that you can't bother to stop at a grocery store once a week, then it may be worth it to you to spend the extra money for weekly delivery. But as an avid cook, I still found myself stopping by the store to pick up items for less than I paid via Winder, so it's not convenient for me. I believe Winder Farms' sales reps are doing themselves a disservice by breezing over the significant amount of fine print involved, no matter how pleasant they are. Better to have a few satisfied customers who know the parameters of their commitment than to have many unsatisfied customers sharing their unsatisfactory experience with friends and neighbors.
