| - There are heaps of bad reviews about Massage Envy, but i became a member a couple years back and have been, for the most part, satisfied. The two locations I have been to have always been clean and professional. Their member plan is difficult to get out of and binding, but I knew that going in. The quality of the massage therapist runs the gamut, sometimes you'll strike gold and sometimes it will be just meh. However, this location gets a one star because the massage therapist I had did super deep pressure on my actual spine, not the muscles next to it, and I almost called it in the middle of the session. I should have, as the next day my spine is really messed up, painful, and I have nerve-like shooting pains going up and down legs. I typically get deep pressure massages and know there can be soreness the next day, this is not soreness there is something seriously wrong. I called to file a complaint, and the manager said, "Ok, well did you want to fill out a paper?" I asked her what that would do, and she said, "Umm, I'm not sure." She then said I should call her back in a week and let her know how I am doing. I asked her, "If I wasn't feeling better then what would that do?" And she responded, "Well, I don't know."
So I am giving this location a one star because their process for hiring massage therapists is potentially flawed, and their management has no idea how to manage well.
