I'm a big fan of Taiwanese desserts so there's not much complaints about it. I ordered the Taro Red Bean Black Pearl (D5) and wished it was a little sweeter but it's perfect for anyone who doesn't like super sweet desserts. My three friends had ordered - Fresh Mango with Pearl Delight (H3), Fresh Watermelon with Sago Mixed (E6), and Chocolate Parfait (AA1). I didn't ask if they liked theirs but everyone finished their bowls/cup, so I guess they did.
Unfortunately, two of them wanted an egg waffle and this flakey dessert (I forgot what it's called but it's in their main menu) was going to take 30 minutes! So they switched to the H3 and AA1. The employees' reason was because they've got other orders which was a little disappointing to the two but I understood. It was empty when we got our table but right at the same time, a big group came in. Plus, there was only one server and one making the desserts - I'd consider getting another employee next time especially on weekends.
Despite that, I'm still rating Sugar Marmalade 4/5 because I was satisfied with my order and service. It's a little pricey for those who don't like to pay $3-6 (before tax) for desserts but it's worth trying if you have the time. But definitely do check out their take-out menu before getting a table. I'll most likely come back in a few weeks or try out one of their other locations since seating here is limited.
