  • I wish I could split this review into two separate reviews. The first review would be for the service area and body shop. The service area does good work and are upfront with all details of the repair. There was the expected upsale to get me to pay for things that I normally do myself; like change the windshield wipers, etc. However at the end of the day, my vehicle was fixed and I was happy. The body shop was outstanding! I was impressed by how they fixed my vehicle to look like new. The attention to detail was amazing. Kendra (sp?) did a fantastic job of explaining what they would do and handling the details. And I appreciate the way she kept me updated with the progress of the repair work. The other review would be for the sales area. They have the standard "pre-sales" guy help you "kick the tires" and answer questions, until it comes down to negotiating, then the real "sales" bastard comes out. Apparently he couldn't waste his time with me, until I was ready to open my wallet. It's the normal BS, all dealerships seem to do, I just don't appreciate the tactic. We negotiated a reasonable sales price, then talk switched to trading-in my current vehicle. And that's when everything dove straight into the toilet. My vehicle was two years old, with all the bells and whistles and low mileage. The sales bastard checked the Kelly Blue Blue price for my vehicle, however he used a three year old base model to get the trade-in value. When I pointed it out, first he said it didn't make any difference, and after I pushed the point, he redid the KBB price, using the correct year, same base model and this time he added 100,000 miles to the mileage on my vehicle. Feeling like I was being scammed, I left without buying anything. And never went back. A week later, I went to Mike Johnson's Toyota in Hickory and traded in my vehicle, got the vehicle I wanted, and came out financially better off than what I would have done at Toyota of North Charlotte. I think I know why they changed their name from Toyota of Lake Norman, they screwed so many people, their reputation was shot, so a new name meant a new reputation. I wonder what they will change their name to next time?
