| - Great concept; poor execution. As both a rider and driver, I can tell you that Uber mistreats drivers and riders. Most riders complain to the driver about surge pricing, but that's not our fault. And despite what they say, Uber takes out 51% to 56% of the fare. This is a rip-off, but drivers are willing to take the abuse because they are desperate enough for cash flow. Talk about Corporate Social Responsibility????? The new CEO earns $200M per year. WTF?
Pin drops aren't always accurate and be off can by blocks or up to 5 miles (for me), and riders take it out on drivers. When I use ride-share, I call Lyft because, at least, they treat their drivers better by paying them more.
If you're a rider please consider:
*Tipping your driver a few bucks. It does make a difference.
*Not giving him/her 1 star b/c they had to cancel the ride...often d/t extenuating circumstances. We're usually doing the RIDER a favor. See above.
*We do get dropped rides d/t the app and/or cell service. Again, not driver's fault.
*When giving verbal directions, get specific: "Turn (right) here" is ambiguous. Do you mean left or right, and which alley/road/street/parking lot?????
