| - My business has been with Sparkletts since 2011.
My experience is, the water is good quality and the delivery guy is pretty regular. This does get the rating up to the two star rating.
Now for the rest of the experience:
1. With Sparkletts required $6 deposit per bottle, the invoice amount fluctuates every month. As a business owner, I cant stand that. I pay thousands of dollars a month to my suppliers. Most are set up as recurring charges on my credit card. I have not seen that option at Sparkletts. So, they expect me to take the time to write a check every month for my water service. It costs the average business $12.90 to process an invoice (Concur Study). A nice fixed amount each month is too much to ask for with this company.
2. Sparkletts charges me a $3.00 invoice fee each month. Really?
3. The bottom load water dispenser we have from what I have read can get bacteria in it. We try to clean it, but its the property of Sparkletts. We pay for a clean working dispenser, they should provide that for the rental. Maybe swap it out every few years? But no.
4. Their cost per 5 gallon bottle keeps going up. I went back to 9/2014 and we were paying $5.00 for one. A year later, it jumped to $6.50. A year after that it went to $8.00. They definately play on people not scrutinizing their invoices too closely and playing the annual escalation game.
5. It took me 25 minutes on hold to speak with a live person, who after 5 minutes of explaining I want to cancel, transferred me to someone else. You cannot cancel online, you have to call and they do not make it easy to reach them.
They have a tremendous distribution network set up and strong presence marketing. But these negative reviews on Yelp are here for a reason. Its too bad because most of their problems are correctable, the company just does not care to correct them.
