| - Sorry, but I had to choose one star to continue. I rate this place as a minus ten stars!
I have been going to SWMED for years now because they were locked in with the group I retired from. It would not have been my choice.
After years of experiences, I can say that without a doubt, this is one of the WORST medical groups I have ever been in.
I have had heart surgery, and other major medical problems, so I do have some experience as a patient, and as a lay person from all my experience.
I have been subject to ineptness and incompetence many times, and at times this has threatened my life, safety and well being.
It takes weeks or months to get an appointment, or you can see some PA that just got out of school. The PA's are by and large comprised of Larry, Moe, and Curly wanna-be's. A referral takes weeks. Then YOU have to do most of the scheduling, a job that should be theirs. Then you get to your specialist (weeks or months later), and they look at you like a leper because you are from ....... Ugh!.............. SW MED. The skin cancer clinic said that hundreds of patients had been scheduled with them, and they refused because SW MED was ***********. Back to SW MED, and in the meantime, my skin cancer was just sitting there cooking in the sun. Then they said that they only take retirees at the skin cancer place a couple of days a month. After 37 years in a union, paying benefits, I have to go to a place where they limit the number of retirees they will see a month for cancer? UNACCEPTABLE!
I could go on and on about missed diagnoses, duplicitous actions, incompetent people, SNARKY staff, inept PA's, and just plain bad treatment, but I will not.
If you are in SW med, do what you can to get out. If you have the opportunity to choose, do not choose them for a caregiver. They are BAD, BAD, BAD. Look around, and read reviews from patients. You will see a LOT of patients with MAJOR medical problems who were totally mistreated of ignored.
Yet your phone will ring, "Do you know it is time for a colonoscopy?" They must get a bonus on colonoscopies, because they sure push them.
I just wish they were as interested in my aorta as my anus.
And for all who have suffered at their hands, make complaints to Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners, federal Dept. of Justice, and ADA discrimination.
FIGHT THESE MORONS.
DO NOT BELIEVE ME ALONE. READ OTHERS HERE WHO HAVE HAD MAJOR INCIDENTS THAT HAVE ACTUALLY THREATENED THEIR LIVES. THERE IS WAY TOO MUCH SMOKE HERE FOR THERE NOT TO BE A FIRE.
And be careful. These people will hurt you.
AND, they investigate themselves if you make a complaint. Convenient. So make your complaints with the right agency.
