The first time I took my dog in to be groomed, he turned out wonderful! He is a husky mix so he has a bit of a shedding problem so I opted for the "furminator" along with the bathe. After I took him home, there was a noticeable difference in how much fur was coming off of him, it was luxurious not being covered in dog hair 24/7!
I took him in again recently, late January/early February, and had very different results. I stayed consistent with the grooming services but when I took him home, he was shedding worse than I have ever seen. I realize that during the first few days after a bath, dogs still shed what is leftover but It's been unbearable. Not only did they not seem to do a de-shed at all, he was really skittish during the first two weeks after his grooming session. He was very timid when I would try to pet him behind his head (which he has never been scared of before) and he would yelp if I was actually able to touch him before he moved away. Come to realize recently while I've been brushing him that he has countless scabs coming off of his back.
It's upsetting that the service was inconsistent because I really liked this place he first time I went. The staff is very friendly and my dog seemed to be happy with them. I'm very frustrated that the second time was a very poor job and they were too rough with whatever brush caused him to have scrapes along his back..
