This place is just okay in my opinion. A friend's birthday promoted my 2nd and probably last visit here. I had been here one other time, and thought it was just okay, but I like to give a place the benefit of the doubt before I decide whether or not it is worth coming back. The second visit confirmed I will probably not be back.
There were 6 of us and the service started out good. We were given waters and menus and after a short while we ordered at least a dozen rolls and appetizers between the table. I was surprised at how quickly the first round of food came out. The rolls were just okay, some better than others for sure. My favorites were the Superman Burrito and the Japanese Lasagna. One thing I don't like is they are very heavy handed with the sauces. They are not very flavorful and don't complement the rolls as a sauce should. I like to taste the fish and not have it covered up with sauce. I also don't like the batter that they use for their deep-fried rolls, but that is no fault of theirs, that is just my personal preference.
Anyway after the first round we didn't see our server for a looooong time. We asked whoever we could flag down to get him to come to our table, but he was no where to be found. He finally emerged and we ordered more food. He was a nice guy, I just wish he came around more often. I enjoyed dessert the best. I got the banana tempura which comes with 6 pieces of fried banana, a scoop of vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. That was deeeelicous. They also have tempura ice cream, regular ice cream and mochi. Bonus points for having coffee flavored mochi :) I probably wouldn't come back here. It's on the other side of town from me, and I just don't particularly care for many of their items.
