I just got an email response from Starbucks corporate customer service about how dirty their stores, including this one, have become lately. The wording and spelling of the response were so bad that it's clear Starbucks is outsourcing their customer issues to a third world country and/or people in the US who can't spell or construct a proper sentence.
I've been to this store several times over several weeks, being the first customer in the door in the morning several times. The table surfaces and the customer prep area were full of dried spilled drinks, the customer tables and common table were the same, plus old bits of food left behind. No employee seems assigned to keep the dining area clean; I've had to ask the barista to come clean off a table so I could put my gear down to work and enjoy my drink. The floor is full of garbage from the day before. I don't know when they clean the place thoroughly, but clearly it isn't overnight when the store is closed.
This wouldn't pass go in a million years in a regular restaurant. I don't know why Starbucks is so complacent about hygiene and cleanliness in their stores these days. It's probably fine if you're just popping in and out for for beverage and food, but the dine-in experience is cringeworthy.
I'm ready to take my coffee drinking to a local coffee house that keeps up its stores to an acceptable standard of hygiene. Who cares about the food and drinks when the dining environment is substandard?
