| - Dr. Pachtmann had been my daughter's ophthalmologist for years. He's always been kind and thorough, and I had no complaints. I was confident that my daughter was getting the very best of care. On our last visit, we arrived at our appointment time and were told the office was running an hour behind schedule. I had left another child at home alone, and could not wait. I wasn't angry. Things happen, and I truly understand. It was an inconvenience, but nothing more. I was advised I needed to go back and see the woman at the scheduling desk to make another appointment. Although I can't understand why, she seemed to take the fact that I needed to leave personally. She was clearly irritated, and hesitant to reschedule me. At some point, she stepped across the hall and talked to Dr. Pachtmann. In fairness to him, I have no idea what she said. She then returned to the desk and told me that I couldn't be his patient any longer. No explanation, nothing. It's been a year, and thinking about it still makes my blood boil. I wasn't angry. I wasn't abusive. I simply couldn't wait and asked to be rescheduled. For this, I am apparently banned from the office. Apparently, only those willing and able to wait an extra hour for their scheduled appointment are accepted as patients.
