| - After first booking the hotel a couple months ago (we are staying for the F1 weekend) we called to confirm our order and found out that our reservation had been cancelled without anyone letting us know. That was a shock, especially considering no one even let us know and we had given them our card number/received a confirmation email etc. if we hadn't called by chance, we would have been SOL upon our arrival in Montreal. The front desk people didn't seem to really care about our predicament either. They were literally like "yeah that happens. bye!" My hub had to write several strongly worded emails in order to get anyone to help us. At first they offered us a family room instead of the two rooms we had originally booked. That wasn't going to work for us. So disappointing, especially since we booked our stay so far in advance knowing it would be a busy weekend.
After a few days, we finally spoke with someone from the hotel who offered our original rooms and apologized, explaining that overbooking is common for this hotel. Seems weird. For these original problems, I cannot rate the hotel as highly as I would otherwise.
Anyway, the actual hotel is beautiful! Quaint, clean and while a little small, perfect for what we wanted. It is very centrally located, close to St. Denis and lots of restaurants/shops/etc. It's an old building and the stairs are pretty steep and a little treacherous, but it really is a lovely little place. I would definitely stay here again! Close to the metro too!
