| - I love The miX Lounge like Kanye West loves Kanye West.
Well, if that was metaphysically possible I almost would.
Atop "THEhotel" at Mandalay Bay on the 64th floor, miX is probably THE best destination to get high in all of Sin City...if you're drug free like me and only seek natural and aerial highs.
VIEW: it's a dream come true for Instagram hashtag whores and Asian tourists alike. I could give you my take on the view (sit outside if you can and don't mind the breeze - there are heat lamps too) but many of the pics speak for themselves. It's like you're on top of the world, or Vegas. Same thing, right?
PICS: glad we showed up a bit after 5p as we got clearer shots but were also able to take more as it darkened and the city lit up. If you have the right camera and/or settings you can capture images at night without the flash reflecting back on the glass.
VIBE: I really liked the open-air setting on the balcony, it's something you don't necessarily get in other major cities that have rooftop-like dining establishments. Our seating set-up provided a relaxing and comfortable environment that enhanced the views even more. "Styling & Profiling" indeed! Dining inside doesn't seem too bad either.
*Oh, I should mention that I chose Sunday night just a few mins after opening to get here and felt I had the best seat in the house. So there is a bias to my review as it's from that limited perspective*

DRINKS:
-Pomegranate Manhattan: it was a good drink to start with, but had lots of ice in it so quantitatively it's more of a teaser. But what can I say, it's Vegas so it is what it is.
-miXopolitan: Absolut citron and cranberries are featured in it. This was sweet and perhaps more satisfying when it comes to volume.
-Beers: I didn't get any but they do have Stone IPA & Lagunitas, yay!
FOOD:
-Mini Beef Short Rib Tacos: w/ guacamole and créme fraiche OFY!!! Who doesn't like some créme fraiche? These tacos had a nice zing to them.
-Sweet & Sour Duck Spring Rolls: I'm always happy whenever I can get some duck.
PRICES: ended up reasonable for Vegas due to the HH discount. You don't go to a place this cool and expect cheap prices, so you may want to be here with the mindset that you're just going to enjoy your life and not worry about the $$$ for a bit.
SERVICE: they represented their establishment well and checked up on us just at the right level of frequency. One girl in particular was pretty hot too. Maybe it's a good thing she wasn't our server, or I would've been checking her out instead of the views!
While reflecting before descending into the lobby en route to the airport, I couldn't help but come to the realization that The miX Lounge can be a special type of place that'd also be great to share with someone you really love - so if you're Kanye I guess that means you just go by yourself?
