  • Super disappointing food and service, and not a good value for what you are spending. They are also located towards the back of the Cosmopolitan (on the third floor I believe), so expect a LOT of walking to get there. My friends love tapas and wanted to try Jose Andres' Jaleo for our fancy dinner while in Las Vegas. We made reservations for a party of 4, but ran about 15-20 minutes late. Although we called ahead to let them know, they gave away our table, which I could understand. However, once we arrived, they told us we were next on the list, but it took at least 30 minutes before we were seated. Luckily, we were able to tell our server that we needed to get out of there by a certain time, so she was able to rush our dishes. We ordered: -Pan De Cristal Con Tomate Fresco (Half Loaf of Toasted Bread Brushed w/Fresh Tomato, $12, http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/jaleo-las-vegas-3?select=xRBBLam0AYhfMFYtZlFMmA#xRBBLam0AYhfMFYtZlFMmA): Just ok. After reading the description of this dish, which claims that it is " uniquely crispy and ethereal bread", I had high expectations. However, this dish was really disappointing. The bread was ok, but too crunchy for my liking, and I didn't think there was anything special about the tomato on it. Skip! -Jamón Ibérico De Bellota Fermín (Hand-Carved, Cured Ham From the Legendary Acorn-Fed, Black-Footed Ibérico Pigs of Spain, $35 oz, http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/jaleo-las-vegas-3?select=xRBBLam0AYhfMFYtZlFMmA#IrrNUw_TOBiFdiZW3HK5 Q): Just ok. Although this jamón is supposed to be from the famed Ibérico pigs, I didn't think it was as good as some of the jamón I had in Spain. I wouldn't get this again. -Vieiras Con Salsa De Romesco (Seared Scallops w/Romesco Sauc , $18, http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/jaleo-las-vegas-3?select=xRBBLam0AYhfMFYtZlFMmA#IyEZzs57dp9C0AVLV 8IcQ): Pretty good. The scallops were cooked well, and I liked the romesco sauce. -Ensalada De Bogavante Con Cítricos Y Escarola (Maine Lobster Salad w/Citrus, Fris ©e, $18, http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/jaleo-las-vegas-3?select=xRBBLam0AYhfMFYtZlFMmA#lT7OTErDIrISaHy i6m31g): Good, but nothing special. The lobster was cooked very well, but I wouldn't get this again. -Arroz de pato 'Jean Luis Palladin' (Rice w/Duck Confit, Duck Breast, Foie Gras Cream, PX Reduct on, $25, http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/jaleo-las-vegas-3?select=xRBBLam0AYhfMFYtZlFMmA#zRC4UuIfh8yaAHm FiFoBg): Super salty. The duck breast was seared perfectly, but this dish was difficult to eat with the salt level. I think I would've really enjoyed it if it hadn't been oversalted. -Gambas Al Ajillo (The Very, Very Famous Tapa of Shrimp Sautéed w/Ga lic, $16, http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/jaleo-las-vegas-3?select=xRBBLam0AYhfMFYtZlFMmA#BmzG-8nYewNsvH UqHmvBg): The shrimp were just ok, but I liked the sauce, and dipping the bread in the sauce. However, I don't think I would order this dish again. -Rossejat Negra con Cigala (Fried Pasta, Squid Ink, Freshwater Prawns, $27): The flavors of this dish were really good, and unique, but again, overly salty. I liked the sweetness the squid ink lent to the fried pasta. I would recommend ordering this dish, but asking them to go lightly on the salt. Overall, the dishes I had here weren't so great that I would choose to come back over dining at another nice restaurant in Las Vegas since there are so many choices. Also, the chefs here need to go easy on the salt. If you must check out Jaleo for yourself, make reservations ahead of time.
