A historical dining experience that we wanted to have before we moved out of the area. Gorgeous home on church street-downstairs is restaurant, upstairs is a private residence. Built in 1889 the home has a beautiful garden and sitting wrap around porch.
You have a choice of 5-9 courses to choice from on the menu. Ranging from meat to fish with heavy weight put on southern favorites like she-crab soup, local fish, greens and cheeses. Small portions and nothing very outstanding except the crab cake-be sure to get that.
The setting is beyond elegant with damask table clothes, fine china, crystal and antique silver. Tip- use the multiple utensils from the outside in!
Staff is formal but friendly but, be prepared for the jacket required dress code. The prices are very expensive. All in all worth the experience, food was good but you do pay for it!
**The 20% gratuity added to the bill was ridiculous if the staff already knows they have that tip-what is the incentive to go the extra mile?
