  • Decided to go try Gimme Some Sugar based on Leah's review (thanks Leah) and because it's so close to my home. I did some reading ahead of time about sugaring since it doesn't seem to be a popular service in Calgary but after my experience with Maika, I'm never waxing again. The little room inside Amethyst salon in Southland Corner is simple and most importantly clean. Maika made me feel very comfortable and as soon as I was in, I was out. Using the traditional Egyptian method of only paste, she was done With me in 10 minutes! Not only is sugaring way less painful than traditional waxing, it's also a bit cheaper and more sanitary. I also have noticed less breakage of the hair, and no having sticky residue left over after the service is compete. Maika is amazing at sugaring, because its all she does. FYI while she does do most body parts, she doesn't do legs. She offers online booking and confirmations as well. I'm officially a convert.
