| - Outside of the Chinese New Year Dim Sum Buffet at Wing Lei, this is my favorite dim sum spot in Las Vegas. We came with out of town guests, who also enjoyed it as well. Decor is very plain and simple. The food is solid, unlike most of the other dim sum places in LV, sans the crazy wait times and bad service you'll find at Ping Pang Pong. It's my ideal choice, with plenty of easy free parking to boot.
We arrived on Easter Sunday at 11:45, as a party of six, and were seated immediately. Tried getting reservations, but was told by the restaurant that they don't take reservations for seating on weekends or holidays.
All the dim sum was on point, and being a party of six, we tried a good amount of items. Not spectacular, but certainly up to par. All dishes came out hot, with the exception of the chicken feet.
My favorite here is the pineapple bun (their version of the ngai wong bau). If you like runny, oozing yolks you'll love these. But beware, I mean runny! When you split these buns open, your fingers will be drenched from the orange liquid yolk-like center pouring out...and, you will love it! The dough of these buns are worth all the carbs. However, note that this is somewhat of an acquired taste. I once shared my love of these with a friend, and we'll just say it's definitely not something she'd ever order again. For me, and my traditional Cantonese-food loving friends though, we really loved it!
Keep in mind that the pushcarts stop coming by at around 2pm. After that, you can order off the menu, but for me, that just isn't as fun as seeing and selecting what you want.
As Hubby always says, "If it's Sunday, it must be Dim Sum Day", and whenever we're in LV on Sundays, we happily often end up here!
