What an experience!! I've always been curious about this place. I am delighted I got to try out Capos. If you are looking for no "frills" authentic Italian food that tastes fresh and homemade, then this is your place!
The Food:
I highly recommend the meatball. One of their signature dishes. 3 types of meat rolled up sitting in a hearty tomato sauce. The stuffed mushrooms topped with mozzarella cheese is simply delish!! The gooey cheese stretches just like a freshly baked cheese pizza when being served. Calamari is crisp with a nice golden brown hue. They are not too oily or greasy tasting at all. Even the complimentary Italian style bread served is fantastic!!
The Ambiance:
Dark but lively place with a mafia memorabilia decor in good taste. Live music daily with a piano bar and Sinatra tunes sung with true heart! If you are lucky, you might get to hear the manager belt out a few tunes on the piano. Very talented player!!
The bar hosts daily regulars who are staples of the establishment since the early days of Capo's existence. They are warm, friendly and are from the era that will buy a lady a drink out of pure etiquette. :)
Excellent service, great drinks (try the red wine Sangria) and even the coffee is darn good because they use Lavazza. I will definitely come back!! Grazie Capo's molto buona!!
