| - So, I'm sitting at home and decide to take in a movie. I don't usually go to the movies, preferring instead to get the DVD from Netflix and watch it in the privacy of my own home where I can pause and rewind, sit in the comfort of a favorite chair, and have a gourmet meal for what it would have cost for popcorn and a soda. But today it was the theater. I noticed that the movie I wished to see started at 3:10. I could just make it. So I rushed to the theater, arriving just at 3:10, asked the ticket seller if I was on time and was told yes. I rushed to the auditorium only to walk in on the movie in progress. It was 3:12. How much could I have missed? So I stayed. Much to my surprise, it was the last five minutes of the movie I was watching. So much for a surprise ending. Credits rolled and I waited for the movie to start again. It was, after all, 3:20 now. Lights went up, screen darkened. I waited. Soon previews and such were playing. I waited. More coming attractions. It was 3:55 and still no movie. My ticket slip showed the movie title and location and a 3:10 starting time. I was not mistaken. At 4:00 I had enough previews and sought the manager. He didn't understand either about the time discrepancy but gladly refunded my money, gave me a pass for any movie I wanted to see, and gave me some comps for the concession stand for my next visit. Anyone want them? Because there won't be a next time. I'm going back to just renting the DVD from now on.
