What defines a customer? Apparently now at Essence it's "someone who buys food." A (somewhat expensive) hot beverage was not sufficient to occupy one of Essence's (all empty) tables recently. One apparently now must buy food in order to sit down. What next, one macaron is not enough "food" to rate a seat? Or does it need to be on a plate to qualify? Over $10? Where do you draw the line? This is quite the slippery slope.
