I feel compelled to write about Huger Mercy Living Center because I want the best care for your loved ones. Our Mom has been living (and I also mean that literally) since 2013. Prior to that she was at two other places. As beautiful as they were she wasn't getting the great interaction that we felt she needed. Prior to Huger she ended up dehydrated and in the hospital several times. One of the doctors told us about Huger. We checked it out and couldn't wait to get her moved to Huger. We just knew it was the right place for her. She has more than thrived there. They feed them very well. Mom even gained quite a bit of weight. That was fine with us. She was very thin prior to moving there. They have so many wonderful parties and crafts. They have different activities like "Drumming" this wonderful man comes with drums for every single person. It was so amazing because everyone was just sitting there and by the time the drumming was done everyone was so invigorated and alive. They have someone bring all these farm animals and the residents just love to hold them. They have shows for the residents, Dickens Carolers, Hawaiian dancers, Country bands, picnics. They love for the families to come join all the time. They have parties for every holiday. I guess I need to end this at some point so I will end with the most important part. The caregivers are amazing. Lisa is the Administrator is amazing. She runs a great facility and makes sure our loved ones get the best care from the great staff. Virginia is in charge of activities and wow hats off to her and her support staff. You see the love she has for every resident. Then you have the amazing medical staff. What they do day in and day out is one tough job, (they become our parents parent). They really care about the residents. Some of the staff have been there for 15 plus years. And I cannot forget the chef and all the kitchen helpers. They make sure everyone has a great meal. When Huger puts on any event the food crew really goes all out. No one leaves hungry. I was just told that our Mom has probably been there longer than any resident. When she arrived there we really thought she wouldn't make it a year. It's amazing to us how she did a 180. I hope you will go and check them out.
